Bridge

The difficult
funding climate at NIH and other agencies has translated into lost grants and
delayed funding for many individuals. This situation has brought to forefront
the issue of “bridge funding” to provide support for faculty salaries and their
laboratories when there is a hiatus in grant funding. Some members have inquired
about how “bridge funding” is handled at different institutions. We thought it
might be of interest to collect some data on this issue and share it with all
members.
